The West Avenue brief was to create a sophisticated New York metropolitan apartment tower for Dubai Marina. This was achieved using a latticed veil of syncopated stone columns that merge and separate from the inner façade of glass. The resultant spaces between the lattice and glass facades form luxurious deep balconies creating outdoor rooms.
The apartments are divided into three sales categories. The top 4 floors are dedicated to 2 levels of Penthouse Duplex Apartments. These penthouses have different entry configurations allowing a subtle play of shifting balcony levels that distinguish the penthouse apartments on the façade. The podium floors contain Lifestyle Triplex Apartments. The apartments are designed to be far more akin to villa style living and hence attract a premium. These apartments feature attached garages, spacious timber decks surrounding the pool area and roof top jacuzzi and garden. The 4th to 27th floors are repeated and contain the remaining apartments in a mix of studio, 1 bed and 2 beds. All apartments feature generous balconies as part of the concept as they were not included in BUA calculations on this particular project.
