ChoCoa, a chocolate confectionary boutique shop sited opposite the Mall of Emirates in Dubai required a simple, clean and rational design that would allow the richly packaged products to shine against a relatively neutral background.
The first objective was to create a hierarchy of displays and order them within the existing space. This was achieved by creating a central area for the 6 ranges of chocolates that would function as the backbone of the store. Revolving around this would be the lower and more flexible clusters of cubes for the display of a range of chocolate gift packs and novelties. The idea of the chocolate and its soft centre was used as a starting point for the development of the wall panels, slots and shelves for display.
The slots would have a soft fabric finish and the wall a hard metallic paint finish similar to the wrapping used for the chocolate. The slots and shelves are arranged at different heights and sizes to allow for a number of different objects to be displayed, from the chocolates themselves to plates and gift packs.
