The Jumeirah Beach Hotel is one of the most iconic and recognisable structures to have been constructed in Dubai over the last twenty years. The hotel is a landmark wave shaped building and represents the best of UAE high end hospitality. To keep up to date with global tourism trends, the owners have embarked on a comprehensive interior refurbishment programme which will maintain the resort’s position as a leading leisure destination of choice. Under instruction by the owners, AK Design was appointed by an international PM firm to act as the Lead Design Consultant for these Phase 3 works. Our remit also included external projects such as the main leisure pool, landscaping, beachside eatery, various F&B terraces, resort wide pedestrian walkways and traffic mitigation.
Interior project components for the Phase 3 works included the refurbishment of circa 420 guest rooms, suites and corridors on multiple levels in the North and South Wings as well as the Arrival Experience Areas which included the Entrance Lobby, Palm Court, Latitude Restaurant and the Retail Zone. AK Design were tasked with compiling a series of quality standard drawing packages for various guest rooms and suites layouts, detail design for MEP end of system reconfigurations, structural duties in relation to large motorized external shading systems and domestic pipeworks replacement. Throughout all stages and tasks, AK Design provided the necessary leadership to uphold building industry standards and facilitate quality site execution to the agreed programme.
