The project is located on SZR and aims to celebrate the motor cycle by placing it as the central character in a glass theatre in order to create an architectural drama through structure which is unique in the region. The building is experienced as an art gallery where each motor cycle occupies it’s own cell. The senses are stimulated through movement from one product exhibit to the next and by the effective use of light, shade and colour. All of these design devices places the motor cycles on platforms of observation and unfolds the drama so as to enhance the customer’s experience.
The industrial ambience and exposed building mechanics are designed to harmonise with the motor cycle brands on display. Equally, the glass structure acts as a transparent beacon at night so that the showroom takes on new life after dark. Elements of space, light, transformation make this a highly versatile and magnetic landmark on the cityscape. Display spaces are supported by a visitors lounge with adjacent café, accessories store with customization offering, offices and landscaping. Another key component is a basement level workshop which is associated with the after sales service of the vehicles. In another sense the workshop completes the drama through energetic performances of the motor maintenance process.
