Winner of the CID Award for “Interior Design of the Year: Office” 2012.
Inspired by the local environment and Emirati heritage, a simple narrative was created that influenced all aspects of Falcon & Associates office interior design, from the initial layout to the details.
Public areas and circulation zones were essentially inspired by the surrounding desert. Smooth materials were chosen in warm, sandy and bronze tones.
The complex architecture was simplified by straight and elongated circulation routes, defined by a contemporary take on the traditional Arabic Mashribiya screen inspired by Falcon’s motif. The screens separated the circulation (“desert”) zones from the functional areas.
The function spaces were conceptualised as Bedouin tents, with soft carpets and padded fabric adorning the floors and walls.
